About us
Loftus Capital is a boutique fund manager focused on providing access to investors who ordinarily don’t have access to venture capital or the emerging technology sector. The executives have a strong history in the PrivateEquity/Venture Capital sectors. Having been CFO’s and responsible for the “detail” in some of Australia’s leading managers, we have the relevant experience in fundraising and investor due diligence processes to properly assess prospective venture capital managers, monitor and support the performance of the portfolio.
Barry Zuckerman and David Bull formed Loftus Capital in 2021 with a focus on providing Wholesale Investors with access to the Australasian Venture Capital market.

Meet the TeaM

FOUNDER
Barry is responsible for the fund’s operations, including venture partner selection, investor relations, and fund administration. He is currently part-time CFO at Potentia Capital and was formerly COO and CFO of CHAMP Private Equity (now CPE Capital) from 2001 to 2019. During his 18+ years at CPE Capital, Barry was involved in six fundraisings totaling AU$4 billion, led a back-office team recognized as “class-leading,” and managed all non-investment operations. He has held numerous directorships and committee roles and previously served as CFO of Challenger Ltd during its rapid growth phase, as well as CFO of The Howard Group. Earlier in his career, he specialized in Information Systems audit at EY.
Barry served on the International Private Equity and Venture Capital Valuations Board (IPEV) from 2008 to 2017 and has received multiple AVCAL (AIC) Awards throughout his career. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Cape Town and is a member of Chartered Accountants ANZ.

FOUNDER
David is responsible for the fund’s back-office functions, including compliance, and oversees the venture partner selection process. He is the founder and Managing Director of Loftus Group, an independent provider of fund administration and accounting services to Australian private equity and venture capital managers, with over $3 billion in assets under administration. With 30 years of industry experience, David has served as Chief Financial Officer of Archer Capital for the past 18 years (part-time since 2019) and was previously Director of Finance at Henderson Private Capital in London from 1999 to 2006.
Earlier in his career, David was the inaugural Controller of AMP Private Investments in Sydney and qualified as a Chartered Accountant with PwC. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of New South Wales, a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment, and the UKSIP Investment Management Certificate. He is a member of both Chartered Accountants ANZ and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
